Golf
If you enjoy golf, then Las Vegas is definitely for you. In fact, Las Vegas has more golf courses per capita then any other city in the country. The courses are high-
quality, and most have been designed by such PGA professionals as Tom Kite and Jack Nicklaus. Several are even host to tour events such as the Three-Tour Challenge, the Las Vegas Invitational and Las Vegas Senior Classic. Best of all, you can enjoy nearly all of them at greatly-reduced local residents´ rates.

Lake Mead

The largest man-made lake in America, Lake Mead offers sandy beaches, boating facilities, watersports facilities (including equipment rental), and virtually every other water-related activity you could think of. While you´re here, why not visit the Hoover Dam, one of the engineering wonders of the world?

National Parks and The Grand Canyon
Not much has to be said about the Grand Canyon, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. It´s only a few hours´ drive away. If that´s too long, why not take a short, 30-minute scenic flight to the canyon and spend a day (or two) there? There are also many other national parks near Las Vegas, from Death Valley to the famous desert landscape of Bryce Canyon.

Red Rock Canyon and Valley of Fire State Parks
Red Rock Canyon, on the western edge of the Las Vegas Valley, offers such oppor-
tunities as a scenic drive, hiking trails, rock-climbing areas, an education center,

and more. It´s perfect for a quick trip; in fact, many hikers and rock-climbers come here almost daily to improve their skills and have fun. Valley of Fire State Park, northeast of Las Vegas, is notable for its deep-red sandstone cliffs. At sunset, the red rocks light up in what can only be described as an amazing sight. Also interesting are the ancient Native American petroglyphs in the park. It is a great day-trip from Las Vegas

Other possibilities
There are many other recreation opportunities around Las Vegas. New local parks have many facilities available. Or if you´re more of a spectator, why not catch a UNLV game, or the Las Vegas Invitational (of golf), or even the National Finals Rodeo? The possibilities are endless.
